J.Q. Dickinson Salt-Works, located in historic Malden, WV, is owned by two seventh generation salt makers, siblings Nancy Bruns and Lewis Payne. Their ancestor, William Dickinson settled here in 1817 to make salt from the ancient Iapetus Ocean. Malden became the largest salt producing region of the country in the mid-19th Century. Today, on the very same land where William worked, Nancy and Lewis capture this pristine source and use special sun-houses to evaporate and crystallize their salt. This hand-harvested, small batch salt is the perfect farm-to-table finishing salt for any dish.
